Vishnudeo Sai’s name stamped in the legislative party meeting.
There was suspense over the chief minister’s post in
Chhattisgarh. In the parliamentary party meeting, Vishnudeo Sai's name was mentioned among many others.
The mystery adjacent to the identity of the chief minister of Chhattisgarh has been resolved. Vishnudeo Sai has been chosen as the new chief minister of the
state. To elect the leader of the legislative party, the newly elected 54 legislators
of the Bharatiya Janata Party met on Sunday at the BJP office in Raipur.
Vishnudeo Sai’s name was stamped in the meeting. After Vishnudeo Sai’s name was
finalised, his supporters celebrated. Leaders and workers danced to the tune of
drums. With music and fireworks, BJP workers celebrated outside the Kushabhau
Thakre premises. Sai is going to be Chhattisgarh's first tribal chief minister.
However, former CM Ajit Jogi is said to be the first tribal CM of the state,
but his case related to this is pending in the court.
Chhattisgarh will also have a deputy CM: former CM Dr. Raman
Singh.
Former CM Dr. Raman Singh also attended the legislative party
meeting. Raman Singh was a strong contender for the CM’s race and was at the
first position. Before attending the legislative party meeting, Raman Singh
said that Chhattisgarh will also have a deputy CM. His statement made it clear
that along with the announcement of the chief minister, the deputy CM will also
be announced in the state. Party sources said that former chief minister Raman
Singh had proposed Vishnudeo Sai’s name for the chief minister’s post.
Meanwhile, party’s state president Arun Saw, and senior leader Brijmohan Agrawal
supported him. It is also being said that during the legislative party meeting,
Raman Singh received a call, and he went outside to talk. It is being speculated
that the call came from Delhi.
Renuka Singh was also in the discussion.
Renuka Singh’s name was also included in the
CM’s race. Renuka Singh is currently the Union Minister of State for Tribal
Affairs. Renuka Singh won the election from the Bharatpur Sonhat seat of the
state and reached the assembly. Renuka Singh defeated Congress’s sitting MLA
Gulab Kamro. Her name was also in the CM’s race because Renuka Singh is a big
face of the tribal women legislators in Chhattisgarh. Even Prime Minister
Narendra Modi also prioritizes the empowerment of women.
Ishwar Sahu’s name also came up.
Ishwar Sahu, who defeated seven-time MLA and minister Ravindra
Chaube, was also in the race for the CM’s post. He also reached the BJP office
to attend the legislative party meeting. After reaching the Kushabhau Thakre
premises, he said that it is a matter of great happiness that the Bharatiya
Janata Party has come to power in Chhattisgarh. He said that the organisation
will decide on the CM’s face.
